Hey, guess what?

All my money is gone because of this one piece of (precious) paper!

I got my Laneway Festival ticket yesterday, guys. I can't even... It's all thanks to my uncle, really. For some reason, he decided to give me a hundred bucks. It was really really random. I don't know what would've happened if I didn't follow my mum to visit my relatives!

So yes, I spent my money on... A ticket. To watch The Drums and The Horrors. And of course, other artists. Maybe I should listen to them too before the festival! That was what I did for The Horrors. Well, actually, for The Drums too.

Basically, when I saw this event on Last FM (thank God for Last FM), I decided to check one of the bands out. I mean, I already knew of The Drums and The Horrors, but I didn't listen to them at all before. I think that was towards the end of December '11 when I decided to have a go at The Drums! Ah, yes, towards the end of December... When I fell in love with The Drums.

Ah, Myles is adorable, btw.

Then, I realised something. That I would pretty much regret it if I didn't go for this festival. Why? Because The Drums are the fucking bollocks. They're so amazing, you have no idea! I started listening to more of their songs, then eventually listening to both the albums that they had, and also the "Summertime!" EP. I didn't dislike a single thing. Everything was brilliant. This band is underrated as fuck. Now that I'm (extremely) familiar with all the songs from their two albums + the EP, I... Actually, I can't choose which album is the best. I just can't. I like them all differently!

Ah, I still remember my first song... The ever-so-popular "Let's Go Surfing". My second song was the catchy-as-fuck "Best Friend". Those used to be my top favourites, but hey, I've familiarised myself with more songs already. ;) So my current favourite song would have to be "I Don't Know How To Love". I don't think they've played this song live before, but maybe I'm wrong... I don't know. That's my current favourite! My all-time favourite? That's a difficult question to answer. More of my current favourites? "What You Were", "How It Ended", "If He Likes It Let Him Do It" and "Me And The Moon". I should stop listing songs down, before I list like, everything. I seriously can't-- All their songs are amazing!

If you haven't checked these guys out, listen to "Me And The Moon", or "How It Ended". That's my reccommendation for you.

Adam Kessler, ex-Drums guitarist.

Also, my favourite band member? Adam Kessler. Unfortunately, he left the band. Before I even got into them. LET ME DIE HERE ON THIS FLOOR. I miss him, even though I didn't know him when he was still in The Drums. ;n; Oh well... I'm actually falling for Myles, even though he's not a permanent member of this band LOL. Actually, it's impossible to choose a favourite member in this band, just like how difficult it is to choose a favourite song! Well, unless Adam was still in the band then my favourite would've been Adam, BUT ANYWAYS.

The Horrors.

Okay, The Horrors! I only got into them yesterday, haha. Or was it two days ago? I can't even remember. Well, instead of going on YouTube to search for music videos, I ended up listening to all three of their albums. Okay, well, actually, I remember going on YouTube last year and listening to their song from the latest album, called "Still Life". Ahhh yes, this song. It actually took me a few listens to actually start liking it! I don't know why. I think it's because I was so used to listening to catchy music like The Drums. Anyways, The Horrors... Their music is so psychedelic, it makes me feel so lost because, I don't know, sometimes I feel like I'm hallucinating because of their songs. LOL. I don't know if that makes sense. Well, yeah, psychedelic music.

What am I saying? I'm feeling lost again now, is it because I'm currently listening to these guys? Dangit! Ah yes, I listened to their albums in this order: Primary Colours, Skying and Strange House. Weirdly enough, I was really drawn to how the whole of Strange House sounded like! It's so Horror Rock-ish. :3 But then, I fell in love with Primary Colours when I listened to it for the second time. And I think I'm falling in love with Skying too now, which is great. Let's just say all these albums are brilliant, ok? suhshfyhtshkl

Oh, my favourite member of The Horrors?

Joseph fucking Spurgeon.
This man, of course. Why? I don't know! He reminds me a lot of Nick McCarthy from some angles too, ha. That isn't the main reason though.. Also, HE PLAYS THE DRUMS? Isn't that the most fucking beautiful thing? An attractive man who plays the same instrument as you do? Yep.

Know what's weird? It took me like, a week to get to know all the members in The Drums, including the ex-members too. And I'm not really sure about the current lineup for live performances. I think Danny Lee Allen plays the drums? And well, there's Myles too. What if I mix 'em all up omfg. I have no idea. Ah, and it took me like, a day to identify the members in The Horrors! It's amusing to me. Well, these guys are pretty distinguishable, so...

Aaaaand I think that concludes my rant. I don't know why I typed all these, but I just wanted to. Ha! I'm so excited.

33-ish days to go! KSGDFKHGADKHF :'D

If you're free, go to this festival. It's gonna be awesome. There're still tickets left. ;)
