Ehm, well, I haven't gone out in so long. Blame my lack of a job and school, haha. I'm bored!
So my dad asked me along to see his friend's band play at a local pub. Lol weird thing is, I'm underage and we don't drink. Y'know, religious rules and stuff. But we were just there to watch the live band and appreciate the music. *___*
Well, when I reached the venue, I did get a little uneasy cos that was my first time going to a pub (I HATE IT), the lights hurt my eyes, and the music was way too loud. Well, I wouldn't mind if it was Rock music.
So apparently my dad's friend, Bob, was eating at some coffee shop while waiting to play. So, we went over there! Well, me, being the anti-social weirdo I am, of course I was nervous. Hahahaha.
The whole band were really nice guys though! I didn't feel uncomfortable at all. :B We had dinner with them too, I ate some Indian rojak (which cost $7 wat) and after that, we went back to the pub cos it was their time to play.
Well, when they started playing, I basically went "KGHSLJDFGFJKAFLSKGHK".
Because they're fucking amazing omg. I can totally see that they've got a lot of experience. D'oh.
Also, the vocalist totally looked like James LaBrie. I COULDN'T HANDLE THAT, I WAS SO AMUSED BY THAT FACT. I think it's his hair. Oh, and his shirt too, it was very loose LOLOLOL.
They played a lot of great songs, like Metallica, Deep Purple, Guns 'n' Roses, Radiohead, and some others that were also equally epic.
Haha when they played "Enter Sandman", the whole place went crazy. Well, what do you expect from Metallica?
Then they played "Smoke on the Water", and their last song was "Black Night". Amaaaaazing.
Lol between the sets, they had little breaks. My dad hung out with his friend Bob, and he kept bragging about me being able to play the drums too, and I'm just, "...What. Don't even COMPARE me to this talented man." LOL. I got to talk to the bassist and the vocalist too. *___* They asked me if I wanted to jam with them sometime soon hahahaha. Whaaaaaaat. My confidence level is so low, I think I'd hide behind that huge drum set... /shot
Hahaha it was an awesome feeling getting to talk to the vocalist. I don't even know.
When my dad introduced me to him, it was amusing.
"What's your name?"
"Puteri."
"Sorry?"
"Puteri."
"Puteri? Alhamdulillah (praise be to God)."
HAHAHAHAHAHA I don't know why I found that so funny.
And another funny thing was when I told them what songs I could play. Well, they only play Metal and Hard Rock mainly, so I really have a small list of songs I could play, since I usually play stuff like Arctic Monkeys and Muse lol.
"Well, I can play Iron Maiden, and maybe some Judas Priest..."
"SERIOUS PE?!"
LOL I was like, "...I know, it's weird for a person like me to listen to bands like these."
Hahaha I wonder what music they thought I played.
Oh yeah, and after they finished a set, Bob asked me to try playing the drums and I was just, "Ehm .____." because lol, I DON'T WANNA PLAY IN FRONT OF PEOPLE OH MY GOD. ON MY OWN. ;A;
Well, I took a long time just sitting down there and staring at the drum set lol, then I started playing the intro to "The View From The Afternoon", yep, Arctic Monkeys. And when I was done, the whole pub looked at me, and I just... Kinda... Uhm... Hid behind the drum set. Oh my god that was scary LOL.
When I got off the stage, someone gave me an applause. It was amusing. XD And awkward!
My confidence level is so low you can't even see it haha. I'm different in real life than I am on the Internet... And I'm different when I'm with people I'm close with, and with people that I'm not. Hahaha. It sucks balls. (now this is why I have little friends... Yeh.)
Okay, I'm done rambling crap.
I wish I brought my camera along then I'd get to take photos of them. :c
Mmmmmmaybe next time!
Now it's time for me to play my drums aw yeh.
